It’s another one of our favorite times of the year; it’s stone crab season in Key West. October 15th marks the opening of the annual stone crab season and fishing companies can only catch Florida Keys stone crab between October and May each year.

Did you know The Keys are Florida's top supplier of the prized claws, considered a renewable resource because of the crabs’ ability to regrow harvested claws? Hundreds of thousands of pounds of stone crab claws are served at local markets and restaurants or distributed nationwide.

Three restaurants serving up the best stone crabs by Key West’s Historic Seaport are Alonzo’s, Conch Republic Seafood Co., and Half Shell Raw Bar. The best news is you can even have stone crab claws delivered right to your door in just a day when you order online.
