Ensconce yourself within the ocean-inspired design of our rooms while looking out over the harbor and pools from your private balcony.
From Fantasy Fest to the Key West Songwriters Festival, Conch Republic Days to Mile 0 Fest, and let’s not forget Key Lime, Hemingway, Rum, Lobster, and Brewfest—there’s always a party happening here in paradise. And yes, we’ll be celebrating Jimmy Buffett in our own way, too! Seriously, if there's a reason to throw a festival, Key West is on it. But hey, we're not here to list all the festivals (though we could go on and on). We're here to make sure you have the best fest experience possible. So, slip on your flip-flops, grab your sunscreen, and let's dive into some tips for an unforgettable festival experience in paradise.
1. Plan Ahead and Know Before You Go!
Plan well in advance for special events and festivals in Key West. Visit the festival websites, sign up for newsletters if available, or stay updated on the resort's Facebook event page and social media. Having all the insider info will make your experience smooth and stress-free. If there's an app for the festival, be sure to download it! It's the best way to stay updated on event times, locations, and any last-minute changes.
2. Get Your Tickets Early!
Listen, this island is small, and when we say events sell out fast, we mean it! Don’t wait until the last minute to secure your spot in paradise—nobody wants to see "sold out" when trying to book. Grab your tickets early and lock in those plans. Nothing’s worse than hearing about an amazing party you almost got into. And don’t forget to visit the event website directly to get all the info.
3. Get Festive with Costumes:
When it’s a costume festival (we’re looking at you, Fantasy Fest!), it’s time to go all out! Think sequins, feathers, body painting—anything that screams fun and fabulous. The wilder, the better! In Key West, costumes aren’t just encouraged; they’re a way of life. So, channel your inner artist and embrace the island's playful spirit! 4. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate:
With all the drinking, dancing, exploring, and rum-filled cocktails, staying hydrated is key. Make sure to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate—WATER—throughout the day to stay refreshed and ready for more fun.
5. Fuel Up Before You Go:
You can’t have the best festival experience on an empty stomach. Enjoy breakfast and lunch at our poolside restaurant and bar with a variety of menu options, from tacos, burgers, and pizza to other island favorites—all ready to fuel you up before you head out for the festivities.
6. Pack Light, Dress Light:
You're in Key West—the sun is shining, and it’s probably a lot warmer than you're used to. A hat, t-shirt, shorts, flip-flops, and comfy shoes should cover it. No matter what festival or event you attend—be comfortable. And don’t forget the essentials: sunscreen, water, your ID, and a portable charger.
7. Walk, Uber, or Taxi:
If you’ve had a few cocktails, it’s best to call an Uber or taxi instead of driving. We're a small island, so walking is a great option too—just take it easy and enjoy the ride!
8. Explore the Island
Festivals are awesome, but don’t miss out on exploring our island’s hidden gems. Discover the art, food, history, and culture that make Key West so unique. Take a bike ride or stroll through Old Town. The festival might bring you here, but it’s the island that will steal your heart!
9. Don’t Forget to Chill
Here’s a pro tip: give yourself a break and unwind. Find a cozy spot by the pool, dip your toes in the ocean, or head out on the water for some fun. You can also swing in a hammock under the palms. Taking some downtime is the perfect way to embrace island life and get some rest before another night of fun.
10. Capture the Vibe, Not Just the Photos:
Sure, snap those pics, but don’t spend the whole time staring at a screen. Some of the best moments happen when you’re just living in the now. Soak in the sights, sounds, and salty air—you’re on island time!
11. Book Your Stay Early:
Don’t wait until the last minute to secure your spot in paradise! Book early—nobody wants to see "not available" when trying to book their stay at our Key West Harbor Resort. Plus, you don’t want to miss all the pool parties and special events happening right here at our resort. We always have something fun going on, so stay and play with us!
12. Have Fun and Share:
We're saving the best tip for last—HAVE FUN! We want to see how you’re enjoying Key West, so don’t forget to tag us on Instagram.
Every festival, event and celebration is a story waiting to be told. Don’t forget to share your favorites with us. #lovethemarker
